Preparing for your health screening

4 min read

Start with your regular doctor

Appropriate screening depends on your age, symptoms, medical and family history, and previous results. A longer list of tests is not automatically better. Your doctor can help you decide what is useful and when to repeat it.

If you already have symptoms or a diagnosed condition, do not wait for routine screening. Ask your treating doctor what follow-up you need.

Check guidance and coverage where you live

Screening programmes, eligibility, costs and coverage vary by country and provider. Check your local health authority, healthcare provider or insurer for current information rather than assuming that a screening package is covered.

Lumen does not book screening appointments, verify subsidies, submit insurance claims or connect to healthcare providers or national health portals.

Keep useful copies together

Ask your provider for a copy of your report. Keep the collection date, laboratory name, units and printed reference ranges. These details help your doctor compare results from different visits.

Lumen accepts documents you upload yourself. It cannot retrieve missing results from a hospital, laboratory or national health record system.

Prepare for your next consultation

Bring your original report and note any symptoms, changes in medicines and questions about your results. A result within a laboratory range does not rule out illness; a flagged result is not, on its own, a diagnosis.
